Beauty product wholesaler secures spot factoring facility to support its activities
A London-based wholesaler of beauty products has secured a spot factoring facility of £80,000 to allow them to accept larger orders and underpin their business and future growth.
After finding that cash flow was becoming a barrier to fulfilling new and larger orders, the company reached out to Hilton-Baird in order to secure a suitable lender.
Our client was new to commercial finance and unsure about how different funding methods work and their pros and cons. We assessed their needs and identified a variety of potential options before we explored each option with them, leading to them deciding on a spot factoring facility which meets their requirements.
Unsure of options
Having been operating since 2015, our client was looking for funding that would improve their cash flow and allow them to move from placing small monthly orders with their suppliers to larger quarterly orders. This would allow them to streamline their purchase process but also benefit from savings which could be gained through bulk orders.
Our client was initially nervous about taking on a new finance facility, simply due to a lack of prior experience, so insight on how such facilities would work, what the requirements would be on them, how user-friendly the systems would be and of course the duration of contract were key considerations as we explored their options.
They also hoped to avoid having to provide a personal guarantee in order to secure funding.
Hilton-Baird were pleased to assist throughout the process, helping our client gain the necessary insight and information needed to overcome their concerns.
With the benefit of increased insight, our client was happy that a spot factoring facility would meet their needs – releasing funding against selected invoices as required – and were able to avoid the need for a personal guarantee too.
Since securing the £80,000 facility, our client’s company has been able to invest in itself and fulfil larger orders, which is key, especially in such unprecedented times.
